For my Drawing 230 class, we had to set up and make our own still life. I wanted my still life to be meaningful and full of objects that represent my past and present. I focused on having it be like an I-spy book; something that could come back to time and time again and always be amazed. I put things in there from my childhood like my wooden owl puzzle, the blue and green bank cars from my grandma, the elf on the shelf, and the statues my dad got traveling the world for work. But also newer objects like my mother’s glasses and her pearls and the chicken that the elf sits in and the colored pencils. I hope that you get as lost in the work as I do.
